Tom Bates is a well-respected and well-known solicitor who has practiced for fifty years in London, specifically in the Westmount area. Born and raised in London in 1944, Tom attended Western University, graduating with a BA in 1965, and a LLB in 1968. He was called to the bar in 1970 and after a short period of time working at a downtown law firm, he began his own practice in West London, specializing in real estate, wills, and estate planning. Tom was one of the first lawyers to venture outside of downtown London. In the past he has served on the Board of Directors for Cystic Fibrosis Society of London and Bethany’s Hope Foundation, and is currently the Vice President of a neighbourhood community council. In his leisure time, he enjoys his rowing scull at the cottage, anything “Italy” or “Paris”, ballroom dancing with his beautiful wife, and spending time with family. Tom Bates is Special Counsel to Millars Lawyers bringing his expertise to our rapidly growing Real Estate, Wills and Estates Department.
