On May 4, 2022, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms announced in a press release that Phillip Millar, CEO and Principal Lawyer at Millars Law will represent serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) who have declined the COVID vaccine on the basis of health concerns of conscientious objections.

Mr. Millar will represent 16 military members in Federal Court, seeking an injunction against the release of the CAF members until their grievances are heard.

“This is a contentious issue with people on both sides adamant they are right, and the other is wrong,” says Millar. “I understand my firm will get flack from some elements in society and it is never easy to take on the most powerful organization in the country, but I have always maintained that this job means nothing if you don’t have the courage to fight for justice.”

Why does this case mean so much to Millars?

The military is being used for political purposes, and the chain of command is buckling because of pressures from Ottawa.

Due process and fairness are the foundations of our civil society and Canadian service members refusing the vaccine are being railroaded without a chance to make their case.  Senior officers in Ottawa created this path to punish those who question the validity of a vaccine mandate.

Thanks to the JCCF they now have someone who will fight for their constitutional rights answer are privileged to be able to serve them as they served our nation.
